IND vs BAN: Why Tamim Iqbal 'jumped off his seat' while sitting beside Harsha Bhogle in commentary box

By MyKhel Staff

IND vs BAN: Tamim Iqbal could not hold his excitement and jumped off his seat early in Bangladesh's first innings while commentating alongside Harsha Bhogle on Day 2 of the ongoing Test against India in Chennai.

Bangladesh came out to bat after bundling out India for 376. and were left rattled by India pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. The pace duo bowled exceptionally well with brand new red SG ball, and asked repeated questions to the Bangladesh batters.

Jasprit Bumrah had already succeeded in picking the wicket of Shadman Islam, when his partner Mohammed Siraj bowled an unplayable delivery in the fourth over. The unplayable delivery nipped back extremely sharply after pitching on the pace-friendly Chennai surface, leaving southpaw Zakir Hasan baffled in the middle.

Harsha Bhagla, who was on air for broadcasters JioCinema at the moment, revealed his fellow commentator Tamim Iqbal jumped off his seat after the breathtaking delivery from Siraj.

"Tamim Iqbal jumped off his seat," Harsha Bhogle joyfully said.

Bangladesh batters went into a shell, and Akash Deep, India's third pacer in the match, made the most of the opportunity. He dismissed Zakir Hasan, and Mominul Haque just before lunch.

In the post-lunch session Bumrah sent Bangladesh's most experienced batter Mushfiqur Rahim packing for eight runs off off Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Sirajj was rewarded with the wicket of Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (20), who was caught at second slip by KL Rahul. At the time this report was published, Bangladesh were struggling at 53/5 in 15 overs.
