T20 world champions Team India will host England in eight white-ball games, starting with the five-match T20I series opener at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday (January 22).
India's captain Suryakumar Yadav returns to familiar territory to take on Jos Buttler's England in a much-anticipated showdown as some of the visiting players also have fond memories from the venue in the city of joy.

Eden Gardens, which is home to the defending Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knight Riders, has so far played hosts to 11 matches on the international stage in the shortest format.
The wicket is expected to have some grass and bounce for the pacers, but dew factor will be a challenge for the bowlers to control the wet ball. With the dew setting in early, it is expected to be equally challenging for both the sides with toss not being a factor.
However, team chasing may have that extra edge. India will still hope their spin will help in these conditions especially with KKR's Varun Chakravarthy in the ranks alongside vice captain Axar Patel, who has one of the best figures in the venue.
The Kolkata venue, which is one of the oldest stadium in India, is set to stage a T20I match for the first time since 2022 when India white-washed West Indies 3-0 in a three-match series. Here is a look at the T20 stats and records at the venue followed by India vs England record in Kolkata:
