England scripted a memorable victory in Hyderabad in the first Test against India on Sunday (January 28) in Hyderabad. The visitors won the match by 28 runs and now lead the series 1-0.
Ollie Pope was brilliant with the bat in the second innings, captain Ben Stokes played a valiant knock in the first one. Joe Root has been brilliant with the ball with 5 wickets in the match as well. And debutant Tom Hartley has played the biggest part in the outcome of the match.

Tom Hartley, the 24-year-old left-arm spinner rattled India on Day 4 in Hyderabad. Chasing 231, India were reeling at 119 for 7 and it was Hartley who played a giant part in it.
The debutant broke the Indian top order with his weave of spin. Captain Rohit Sharma was plumb in front, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill also fell in his trap as Hartley single-handedly brought England back in the match. He got his 4th scalp as Axar Patel went back after a promising start.
His final three wickets came in the latter stage of the day. KS Bharat was cleaned up, and rush of blood from Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Siraj saw them got stumped.
The Lancashire spinner bowled in tight length in the second innings and was accurate with his line. In the first innings, he was a bit expensive but on Sunday (January 28), Hartley was flawless, with figures of 7 for 62.
Hartley has picked up nine wickets in the match. Apart from the seven wickets in the second, he had two wickets in the first innings and also scored 57 runs with the bat across the two innings.
The lanky bowler has got assistance from the Hyderabad deck and has proven to be a top weapon for England. The visitors have tasted a crucial victory and the team management will be ecstatic with the youngster's performance.
