T20 world champions Team India will look to continue their winning streak in the shortest format at home when they host England the second of the five-match T20I series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday (January 25).
Suryakumar Yadav-led Men in Blue, who have lost just once in their last 14 T20Is, scored a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Jos Buttler's England in the series opener at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday (January 22).

Opting to bowl first, India made early in roads to put England on the back foot as Arshdeep Singh struck twice inside three overs. The visitors put on a fight through skipper Buttler (68 off 44 balls) and Harry Book before the latter fell to spin wizard Varun Chakravarthy, who also removed the former.
Chakravarthy finished as the best bowler for India with figures of 3 for 23 in his four overs, while Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep finished their spells with 2 wickets each, bundling out England for 132.
In response, Abhishek Sharma made light work of the chase, scoring a brisk 79 off 34 balls. Sharma, who scored the second fastest fifty for an Indian in the format, ensured India reached the target with 7.1 overs to spare. Having claimed the series lead, the action now shifts to Chennai.
MA Chidambaram Stadium, which is home to the joint-record Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Chennai Super Kings, has so far played hosts to just 2 matches on the international stage in the shortest format.
The wicket is expected to be another struggle for the visitors as Chepauk is famous for it's slow nature with assist for slow or spin bowlers. Hometown's Varun Chakravarthy will look to spin a web once again.
The Chennai venue, which is fondly called the Den by CSK, is set to stage it's T20I match since 2018 when India beat West Indies, overcoming their previous 1-run loss to New Zealand at the venue in 2012.
Both matches have seen scores go past 150, but those international fixtures were played long ago. Here is a look at the T20 stats and records at the venue followed by IPL numbers in Chennai ahead of IND vs ENG 2nd T20I:
In the IPL 2024, the average first innings score was 170, while the second innings score was 152. However, teams chasing won six of the nine matches last season, when most matches saw runs come at ease as opposed to usual sluggish surfaces in Chennai.
