IND vs ENG 2nd T20I Playing 11: Brydon Carse and Jamie Smith added as England made two changes to their squad for the second T20I against India, scheduled to be played on Saturday (January 25) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Carse, a pace-bowling all-rounder, replaces Gus Atkinson from the side that lost the series opener earlier in the week in Kolkata, while Smith, a wicketkeeper-batter, has been added as cover for Jacob Bethell, who is a fitness concern heading into the match.

All-rounder Bethell was absent due to illness from the team's training session in Chennai, while Atkinson's exclusion comes after a tough outing in the first T20I in Kolkata on Wednesday (January 22), where he conceded 38 runs in just two overs as India comfortably chased down 133 in 12.5 overs.

Meanwhile, India could also be forced into making one change after reports emerged that opener Abhishek Sharma, who starred in the series opener with 79 off 34 balls, injured himself on the eve of the second T20I.

According to a report in the Indian Express, the young left-handed opeing batter twisted his ankle during training on Friday (January 24) evening at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Team India do not have a backup opener in the squad, but if Abhishek is not fit, Suryakumar Yadav's side may promote Tilak Varma to the top of the order or use Dhruv Jurel, who is likely to get a lookin, to open alongside fellow wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson.

Apart from that, the Men in Blue may also look at handing Mohammed Shami a spot in the playing 11 after the pacer missed the series opener. Shami may replace one of the spinners in the India line up.
