IND vs ENG 2nd Test: On a challenging opening day of the second Test at Edgbaston, debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy found himself at the centre of a pivotal moment after misjudging a delivery from England's Chris Woakes.
The 22-year-old right-hander was dismissed for just 1 run, choosing to leave a ball that jagged back in sharply and shattered his off stump - a classic case of misreading seam movement under testing English conditions.

Reddy walked in with India in a commanding position at 208 for 4 following the dismissal of Rishabh Pant. The visitors had laid a solid foundation thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal's fluent 87 and captain Shubman Gill's assured presence at the crease. But just as India looked set to push towards a dominant first-innings score, Woakes stepped up and shifted the momentum.
Bowling with a slightly older Dukes ball under a blanket of overcast skies, Woakes exploited the conditions expertly. From a wider angle, he delivered a good-length ball that initially looked harmless, appearing to pass well outside the off stump. Reddy, perhaps influenced by the benign nature of the first session, decided to shoulder arms. The ball, however, had other plans - it nipped back sharply and clattered into the off stump, leaving Reddy stunned.
His dismissal was a body blow for India, who then lost two wickets within the span of eight deliveries. The momentum swung decisively in England's favour, and the crowd came alive sensing a breakthrough. With the middle order exposed, the responsibility now lies heavily on Gill, who has completed his century along with Ravindra Jadeja- the duo getting a 80+ partnership.
At 291 for 5, India have stepped after a shaky spell in the middle order. Woakes's intelligent spell and Reddy's misjudgment may well become the turning point of this Test, as England's gamble to bowl first begins to show its worth if further hiccups happen.
