IND vs ENG 3rd Test: These Four India players may have their Final Chance in Rajkot

A Jasprit Bumrah inspired toppled England to restore parity in the ongoing Test series between India and England.

After two Test matches, the juggernaut is shared by two teams with a scoreline of 1-1. As the crucial third Test approaches in Rajkot, it will be a massive testament for both teams to strengthen their hold in the proceedings.

IND vs ENG 3rd Test: These Four India players to have their Final Chance in Rajkot?

The Indian team will be relieved with some serial performers in this series, but they have matters to be concerned about. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jasprit Bumrah, and Shubman Gill bode the positives whereas injuries to Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli's unavailability are the Achilles heel for the hosts.

The selectors called in players like Sarfaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar, Rajat Patidar in India's team for the second Test, and some of the players will find themselves in the squad for the upcoming three matches.

Amid this, the Rajkot Test can be the final opportunity for three current starters in the team. If the trio fail to perform in the next match, their places are in jeopardy and we may see immediate changes coming after that.

Shreyas Iyer

With just 104 runs in four innings with a very disappointing average of 26, Shreyas Iyer finds himself in deep trouble. The Indian batter has failed to convert all of his starts and has given away his wicket cheaply. So it is going to be a massive test for him, and he has to perform to keep his place in the starting 11.

KS Bharat

KS Bharat is another player who has found things difficult so far in the series. The wicketkeeper has fumbled behind the stumps and has shown no assurance with the willow. He has just 92 runs so far in the first two matches, and with Sarfaraz Khan waiting in the wings, Rajkot is going to be Bharat's final resort to resurrect his status in the team.

Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar made his debut in the last match in Vizag. The debutant scored a decent 32 in the first innings, but then got out for just 9 runs in the second innings. Patidar is likely to feature in Rajkot and it is only fair that he gets another opportunity, but a failure in the 3rd Test can jeopardize his chances of selection afterwards. Hence the 30-year-old will have to be amongst the runs in the next match.

Mukesh Kumar

Mukesh Kumar partnered Jasprit Bumrah in the 2nd Test with the new ball and was largely underwhelming. Bumrah showcased his supremacy with nine scalps, whereas Mukesh Kumar picked up just one wicket and was smashed apart by the English batters Hence the Rajkot Test will be a crucial match for him and the pacer needs a better outcome to keep his place in the team.
