IND vs ENG 5th Test: Day 2 of the fifth and final Test between India and England at The Oval proved to be a dramatic affair, witnessing the fall of 15 wickets and a pendulum swing in momentum.

By the close of play, India held a lead of 52 runs, reaching 75 for 2 in their second innings, with Yashasvi Jaiswal unbeaten on a fluent 51.

The day began with England wrapping up India's first innings for 224, thanks largely to Gus Atkinson's impressive five-wicket haul. Karun Nair stood out with a gritty 57, while Washington Sundar provided support late on.

In response, England's innings was anchored by Harry Brook, who top-scored with a brisk 53. Despite a rain interruption halting play briefly, Brook's effort helped England inch ahead. However, their hopes of a substantial first-innings lead were dashed by a spirited Indian bowling performance.

Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna turned the tide for the visitors, each bagging four wickets. Krishna, in particular, recorded his best Test figures with 4 for 62. Meanwhile, Siraj's consistent performances throughout the series earned him the distinction of being the leading wicket-taker in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. England were eventually dismissed for 247, securing a narrow 23-run lead.

India's second innings began with aggression and intent. Jaiswal took charge early, punishing the English bowlers and riding his luck after being dropped twice. His unbeaten half-century came at a rapid pace, giving India a crucial edge going into Day 3. However, India did lose KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan, leaving Jaiswal and nightwatchman Akash Deep to carry the innings forward.

With three days left and the series on the line, India's slender advantage has set up an intriguing contest.
