'There was a guy named Rishabh Pant': Rohit Sharma gives befitting reply to Ben Duckett after Yashasvi Jaiswal comments

India captain Rohit Sharma has given a befitting reply to England player Ben Duckett after his recent comments on Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Ben Duckett recently made a bizarre comment on India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, where he spoke that opposition batters may have implemented their own version of 'Bazball' after learning from the England cricket team.

'Bazball' is a term that is associated with England for their aggressive scoring pattern in Test cricket, and after Yashasvi Jaiswal's prolific batting, Dukett thought it was a byproduct of his learnings from England.

"When you see players from the opposition playing like that, it almost feels like we should take some credit that they're playing differently than how other people play Test cricket," Duckett said during the third Test in Rajkot.

"We saw it a bit in the summer and it's quite exciting to see other players and other teams are also playing that aggressive style of cricket," he added.

India captain Rohit Sharma was asked about Duckett's words and Rohit has opined in his own style, citing a certain 'guy named Rishabh Pant'.

Rishabh Pant demolished England back in 2018 with his aggressive batting on English soil. The southpaw, who is set to return in IPL 2024 after a long lay-off, scored multiple aggressive centuries across the globe in Test cricket. Rohit Sharma just tried to remind everyone of that.

"There was a guy named Rishabh Pant in our team, probably Ben Duckett hasn't seen him playing," Sharma told ahead of the 5th Test in Dharamshala.

India have already wrapped up the series and will be hoping to complete their rout in Dharamshala. They are currently on top of the WTC standings and would love to consolidate on that.

Yashasvi Jaiswal would also be keen to continue his merry way in the series. The 22-year-old has amassed 655 runs across eight innings at mammoth average of 93, which includes two double centuries.
