Abhishek Sharma has overtaken Sanju Samson to become the second-quickest Indian player to a T20I century.
Sharma played a scintillating knock against England in the 5th T20I on Sunday (February 2) in Mumbai, notching up his 2nd T20I century in the process.

The Punjab-born opened the innings for India and started in stellar fashion. The southpaw was devastating on the English bowlers and played some spectacular shots en route to his century. Sharma brought up his century in just 37 deliveries, thus becoming the 2nd fastest Indian player to a T20I century.
Abhishek, with the century in 37 deliveries, also goes past Sanju Samson for the 2nd spot. Samson got to the three-figure mark in 40 deliveries against Bangladesh in 2024.
Rohit Sharma's 35-ball century against Sri Lanka on December 22, 2017, in Indore, remains the fastest in T20 International (T20I) cricket history for India.
In the second T20I of the series, Rohit Sharma, captaining the Indian team, delivered a scintillating performance, scoring 118 runs off just 43 balls. His innings included 12 fours and 10 sixes, propelling India to a formidable total of 260 for 5.
Rohit's century equalled the then-record for the fastest T20I hundred, previously set by South Africa's David Miller against Bangladesh in October 2017.
Abhishek Sharma's ton against England is also the fastest against them in T20I cricket. Before the India player, Australia's Aaron Finch scored the quickest century against England in 47 deliveries.
