After Injury in Gym and return from IND vs ENG series, Nitish Reddy gets Legal Notice for unpaid dues of Rs 5 Crore

By MyKhel Staff

India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has landed himself in a legal trouble, soon after suffering an injury in the England series.

Reddy, who has returned to the country after a knee injury during gym session, has now been sent a legal notice by his former agency for unpaid dues in crores.

The agency, Square The One, managed Nitish from 2021 until the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and alleges that Nitish owes them Rs 5 crore in unpaid dues. Their partnership reportedly ended during India's tour of Australia, when Nitish abruptly severed ties and began working with the manager of another Indian cricketer on the team.

For four years, the agency had secured brand endorsements for Nitish Reddy. According to a source quoted by Inside Sport, "Ninety percent of such disputes do not reach court and are resolved privately. But in this case, Nitish refused to pay any money and claimed he had secured the deals himself."

As a result of the unpaid dues dispute, Square The One has filed a legal suit against Nitish Kumar Reddy. The Delhi High Court will hear the case on July 28, under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, over alleged breach of the management agreement and non-payment of dues.

The Vizag-born player was part of the England series and played two Tests. He amassed only 45 runs across four innings and picked up 3 wickets, before getting ruled out with the injury. Amid this, the new legal trouble is a fresh issue for the India all-rounder.

Nitish Kumar Reddy emerged as a promising all-rounder making his domestic debut in first-class cricket for Andhra in January 2020. Rising quickly, he showcased outstanding performances, including a record Vijay Merchant Trophy season with 1,237 runs. He made his international debut for India in T20Is in October 2024 and his Test debut during the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, gaining attention for his batting and bowling skills. He also plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, marking a rapid ascent from domestic cricket to the national team by age 21.
