BCCI Diktat : The BCCI's implementation of its new 10-point Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Indian cricket team has sparked considerable debate.
Among these guidelines is a directive requiring all players to travel together on the team bus, with state cricket associations instructed not to arrange separate vehicles for individual players.

The move, which BCCI claims is aimed at fostering commitment and a strong work ethic, has already come into effect, starting with the India vs. England T20I series opener in Kolkata on January 22.
Snehasish Ganguly, President of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), confirmed to PTI regarding the adherence to the new rule, stating, "In keeping with the BCCI's 10-point guidelines for players, the Cricket Association of Bengal has not arranged any separate means of conveyance. Only a team bus has been arranged for the Indian team. There won't be any personal vehicles for the cricketers. We have to follow the guidelines, which clearly state that all players are expected to travel with the team to and from matches and practice sessions."
The 10-point policy was introduced after India's disappointing performance in the recent series against Australia. It mandates players to attend the entirety of scheduled practice sessions and emphasizes collective travel. While BCCI insists the guidelines are not punitive, Ajit Agarkar, the chief selector, clarified, "It is not a punishment."
However, India captain Rohit Sharma has expressed reservations about certain aspects of the policy, particularly those limiting the time players can spend with their families while on tour. Speaking on January 18, Rohit shared the team's concerns regarding this restriction, though BCCI has already begun enforcing other parts of the SOP.
The Indian team, currently led by Suryakumar Yadav for the T20I series, will head to Chennai for the second game, with all arrangements adhering to the updated BCCI directives. The guidelines are expected to remain in place for the entirety of the India vs. England series.
