In the wake of India's disappointing 3-1 Test series defeat in Australia, questions lingered about the selection choices, particularly the omission of Cheteshwar Pujara from the No. 3 spot. This decision was scrutinized given the team's struggle to amass sufficient runs, a crucial factor in their loss.
However, attention now turns to the forthcoming five-Test series against England in June, raising speculations on whether Pujara will make a return to the squad. During his appearance at the RevSportz Trailblazers 3.0 Conclave, Cheteshwar Pujara shared insights into his readiness and eagerness to contribute to the Indian Test team if selected for the upcoming series in England.

His statements, "If given a chance, I'm ready to grab it with both hands. The hunger is even more. When you are older, you need to work even harder," reflect a deep-seated desire and commitment to excel at the highest level.
This conversation, led by RevSportz's Editor-in-Chief Boria Majumdar, was part of a session aptly named "Never Say Never, Eye on England," highlighting Pujara's aspirations and readiness for future challenges.
Reflecting on past achievements, Pujara fondly recalled India's historic Test series win in Australia during the 2018-19 season, where he was a pivotal figure, amassing 521 runs and facing 1,258 balls.
"Australia are the toughest when it comes to Test cricket. India never like to lose to Australia. That's why 2018 was like winning the World Cup. It was the biggest achievement of my Test career. And also, 2020-21, when we repeated history," Pujara remarked, emphasizing the significance of those victories in his illustrious career.
Pujara's confidence extends beyond personal accolades, as he voiced optimism about India's prospects in England. He acknowledged the strength of India's bowling unit and emphasized the necessity for the batsmen to deliver.
"We have the bowling. We need to put runs on the board. And we have the players to do that. We have to respect the bowling and the conditions. I won't say that we don't have a chance," he stated, underscoring the balanced capabilities of the Indian team.
Moreover, Pujara dismissed the notion of India having a 'home advantage' during the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand in Dubai, a subject of much debate.
He clarified, "I don't think so. The schedule was put out before the start of the tournament. The tournament is being played in a hybrid model because India couldn't go to Pakistan due to security reasons," thus shedding light on the complexities of the international cricket schedule.
Pujara's perspective on the England series and his reflections on past triumphs were significant highlights of the RevSportz Trailblazers 3.0 Conclave, marking a successful commencement to the country's most prominent sports conclave.
His anticipation for the challenge in England, combined with a detailed description of his preparation against Kuldeep Sharma on cement pitches, demonstrates a veteran cricketer's unwavering dedication and strategic foresight.
