Rishabh Pant has made a huge confession ahead of the first Test against England, which starts at Headingley from June 20.
The Indian cricket team's vice-captain in Test cricket, expressed relief and strategic optimism about facing England without the veteran bowlers James Anderson and Stuart Broad, who have retired from international cricket.

Broad and Anderson's absence could potentially benefit India, as Pant noted the opportunity to exploit England's inexperience, while still emphasising the importance of respecting the opposition and focusing on playing their own game.
Pant revealed during a press conference ahead of the 2025 India tour of England, highlighting a shift in the dynamics of the series due to the absence of these key players.
"It feels so good when both of them are not there. They have been there for England for so many years. I only came for two tours. They have enough ammunition in the England bowling lineup. We don't want to take anyone lightly because our team is also young. They are looking to develop themselves but at the same time, we need to play our cricket and respect the bowlers," Pant said at the press conference.
The Indian team will have a huge task as well. With the absence of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, there is a massive void in their batting lineup. The likes of Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul will have to step up as the Indian team vies for a positive outing in England, which has not been a happy hunting ground for them.
