In an unexpected turn of events, young pacer Harshit Rana made his T20I debut in dramatic fashion, stepping in as a concussion substitute despite not being named in the original Playing XI.
India are playing England in the 4th T20I in Pune and the Delhi pacer has made it to the team, thus making his debut in the T20 format for India.

Harshit Rana made his Test debut for India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy last year but has got his elusive debut in the shortest format of international cricket, and interestingly, he was not even named in the starting lineup.
The incident unfolded when Shivam Dube suffered a blow, ruling him out of the game and paving the way for Rana's introduction to international cricket.
Concussion substitutes have been a part of international cricket since 2019, but it is rare for a player to make their debut in this manner. Rana, a promising fast bowler known for his fiery spells in domestic cricket and the IPL, was not originally in India's starting XI for the match. However, with Dube deemed unfit to continue, the Indian team management turned to Rana to fill the void.
Harshit Rana's inclusion to the team proved to be crucial for team India as the pacer managed to get a wicket in his very first over in T20I cricket. Harshit took the wicket of Liam Livingstone in the first over.
India managed to score 181 for 9 after batting first in Pune. Shivam Dube scored an unbeaten 53 while Hardik Pandya also scored a fifty. Rinku Singh and Abhishek Sharma also played crucial hands for India after the hosts lost three wickets in the 2nd over of their innings.
