IND vs ENG: After registering a commanding 336-run win over England at Edgbaston, Team India is eyeing a few strategic tweaks to its playing XI ahead of the third Test, set to be held at Lord's from July 10 to 14.
Despite their dominant performance, the Indian team management appears inclined to fine-tune the squad as the high-stakes five-match series progresses.

One confirmed change is the return of pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who missed the Birmingham Test due to workload management. Captain Shubman Gill confirmed during the post-match presentation that the world's No. 1 Test bowler will be back for the Lord's clash. Bumrah's return means Prasidh Krishna, who has been underwhelming in the series and drew criticism for his lack of control, is likely to make way.
Young pacer Akash Deep, who filled in for Bumrah and bagged an impressive 10-wicket haul in his debut Test, is expected to retain his place. The 27-year-old's remarkable performance in Birmingham has possibly earned him a longer run in the side.
The team could also see a shift in the all-rounder department. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who struggled with the bat and wasn't utilized with the ball in the second Test, may be replaced. India may opt for either wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav or left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh to add variety and depth to the bowling attack. With Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar contributing significantly with the bat, India might choose to go with two all-rounders and bring in a specialist bowler.
Middle-order batter Karun Nair, who has had modest returns so far (scores of 0, 20, 31, and 26), could be at risk of missing out. B Sai Sudharsan is a potential option, though a change in that position appears less likely. Dhruv Jurel and Abhimanyu Easwaran are also part of the squad, but their inclusion for the Lord's Test seems improbable at this stage.
As the series heats up, India will aim to keep the momentum going while optimizing its squad for the iconic Lord's challenge.
India's likely playing XI for the 3rd Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Karun Nair/Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (C), Rishabh Pant (WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah.
