BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar has made a huge confession regarding Jasprit Bumrah on Saturday (May 24), while revealing the India squad for the England Test series.
The team for the upcoming five-match series was announced on Saturday, and Agarkar has conceded the reality of Bumrah's fitness at the moment.

Shubman Gill was picked as the captain for the series while Rishabh Pant will deputise him. Although Bumrah's name was hovering as captain, the India pacer hasn't been given any leadership duties. The main reason for that was Bumrah's fitness, which has been a cause for concern.
Recurring back pains and other issues have ravaged Bumrah's fitness over the last few years and the India speedster has missed many crucial series for that. The NCA doctors have prioritized a workload management for Bumrah to optimize his conditions, and as a part of that, he was not picked as captain.
And while revealing the tour, Agarkar also confirmed that Bumrah will not be available for all five Test matches. The elite fast bowler's fitness won't allow him to play in all matches, and Agarkar could only guess 'three to four' as the number of matches India may have Bumrah in the England series.
I don't think he will be able to play all five Tests, as per what the physios, doctors told have told us. Whether it's four or three, we will see how the series goes and how his body can keep the workload. Even if he fit for three or four Tests, he will win us a few matches. We are glad that he is fit and we've seen what he is doing in the IPL," Agarkar said of Bumrah.
