IND vs ENG: Michael Vaughan lauded India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja after his solid hundred on Day 1 of third Test against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. The hundred came after India lost three wickets inside the first nine overs.
Ravindra Jadeja, who walked in the middle ahead of debutants Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel, resurrected India's innings by partnering for 204 runs with Rohit Sharma for the fourth wicket.

Jadeja later partnered for 77 runs with Sarfaraz Khan, and went unbeaten on 110 off 212 on Thursday, February 15. Vaughan has praised Jadeja for grinding in the middle with minimal risk and playing old style cricket.
"Ravindra Jadeja is a class act. There is only one area of his game where you can challenge him - a yard outside of off stump, fuller length where you can nip it away. Jimmy and Mark Wood tried that through the day. he played and missed a few. On Indian wickets where there is not a lot of zip, I tink that he is a very very consistent performer," Vaughan told Dinesh Karthik in a chat with Cricbuzz.
"Jadeja's mindset is like a top-order batter despite him playing at No.7 for the most part of his career. He is willing to do the hard yards, he is willing to see a bowler off, he played more traditional style Test match than Rohit Sharma and Sarfaraz Khan. He was a throwback to how we played Test match cricket. Just bat, bat and bat, do not give any chances... and if he takes his team to 450 that is going to to be a big big score on this venue," Vaughan further added.
Ravindra Jadeja became only the third Indian player after Kapil Dev and Ravichandran Ashwin to register a double of 3000 runs and 200 wickets in Test cricket.
