IND vs ENG: Unlike the first semi-final match between South Africa and Afghanistan in Trinidad, there is no reserve day for the second semi-final between India and England at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday, June 27.
That means the the outcome of the match would have to come on the same day. In case the match is abandoned with a result, India will qualify for the final as they finished at the top of Group 1 table in Super 8 round. England finished second in Group 2.

However, the ICC playing conditions for the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024, will give the two teams enough opportunity to finish the game and produce a result. Both the sides will have to play a minimum of 10 overs for a result to be determined.
As per the ICC playing conditions, the first semi-final will be given an additional 60 minutes on the day of the match, and another 190 minutes on the reserve day. However, an special arrangement has been done for the India vs England semi-final.
All the extra 250 minutes allowed to produce the result of the match will be utilised on the same day if needed. The match in Guayana starts at 10:30 AM as per the local time, and the ICC has a plan to use the entire day if needed to produce a result.
"Whilst the additional 250 minutes for the second semi-final scheduled on 27 June will be utilised if needed through extended playing hours on the scheduled day," sub-section 13.6.2.1 of the clause 13.6 titled 'Duration of Match' in ICC playing conditions for T20 World Cup 2024 says.
The first semi-final start at 8:30 PM local time on June 26, giving ICC the opportunity to schedule a reserve day on June 27. The T20 World Cup 2024 final will be played from 10:30 local time on June 29 in Barbados. Therefore, the winner of the semi-final one in Trinidad will have enough time to travel to Barbados for the final.
However, the same could not be possible for semi-final 2 which starts at 10:30 AM local time on June 27 in Guyana. A reserve day would mean both the teams competing less the 24 hours before the start of the final.
Due to viewership reasons, it was pre-decided that India would play all the morning games, so that fans in India and Asia can watch the live action after their office hours in evening. It was also decided in advance that India would be playing the second semi-final in Guyana if they qualify for the last-four round.
