IND vs ENG: Hours before the start of the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 between India and England, a two-year-old picture of the Providence Stadium in Guyana - the venue for the knockout game - has gone viral.
There were forecasts of rain in the lead up to the match. However it hasn't rained just once in Guyana in the last 24 hours and the match is expected to start on time (8:30 PM IST, and 10:30 AM local time).

The two-year-old picture of the Providence Stadium in Guyana went viral on social media, misleading the fans waiting for an update on the latest weather forecast. A few users stepped in to reveal the reality of the picture.
"ALERT - it's a 2 year old pic. Rain has eased out in Guyana and since yesterday evening there hasn't been any rain at all," a fan wrote.
“Intervals of clouds and sunshine with a couple of showers, mainly early in the day,” Accuweather has predicted. Journalists in Guyana covering the match have also predicted a few showers. The first round of shower arrived less than three hours before the start of the match on Thursday.
If the match is abandoned due to rain India would qualify for the final as per the ICC playing conditions for T20 World Cup 2024. India finished as Super Group 1 table-toppers and therefore would qualify for the final ahead of England, who finished second in Group 2.
An additional time of 250 minutes will be granted to complete the match on the same day if rain interrupts the match. The winner of the match will meet South Africa in the final on Saturday in Barbados.
