IND vs ENG: Ravindra Jadeja has made a selfless wish for his spin partner Ravichandran Ashwin after the first day of the ongoing first Test which started on Thursday, January 25.
Jadeja, who is himself approaching 300 Test wickets, said that he was wishing for Ashwin to reach the milestone figure in the first Test itself. Ashwin picked three wickets in the first innings against England, and is now in need of seven more wickets to become only the fourth spinner to pick 500 Test wickets.

Nathan Lyon of Australia recently joined the list alongside Muttiah Muralitharan and Anil Kumble. Ashwin had congratulated the off-spinner for his monumental feat.
"It will be a big achievement if Ashwin completes 500 Test wickets and I hope he gets it in this match. I am left with 25 wickets for 300 and it might take the whole series, but I wish Ashwin completes his 500 in this game itself and continues taking wickets for India," Jadeja told Jio Cinema after Day 1 of the first Test.
The left-arm spinner also talked about his pairing with Ashwin. The duo took over Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble's record for most Test wickets as a pair for India. They now have 506 wickets while playing together in the format. Jadeja said he enjoys the competition with Ashwin.
I really enjoy bowling with Ashwin, it is really helpful with two spinners bowling in tandem. We share a lot of messages around field setting, line and length and we are happy to contribute to India's win. We really enjoy the competition," Jadeja added.
After England were bundled out for 246, India finished Day 1 on 119/1 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 76 unbeaten runs off 70 balls.
