Ravindra Jadeja has etched his name in the history books by becoming just the fifth Indian bowler to claim 600 international wickets across formats on Thursday.
The seasoned left-arm spinner reached the landmark during the first ODI against England at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.

Jadeja, who made his international debut in 2009, completed the feat with his third wicket of the match, further cementing his status as one of India's greatest all-rounders.

Notably, Jadeja is the first left-arm bowler from India to reach this milestone, further enhancing his legacy in Indian cricket. He also happens to be the only Indian spinner to have 6000 runs and 600 wickets in international cricket.
At the same time, Jaddu has also etched his name in the record books by surpassing former England pacer James Anderson. With his three-wicket haul, he now holds the record for the most wickets in ODIs between India and England.
Anderson previously led the charts with 40 wickets against India in the format. However, Jadeja needed just two scalps to overtake him and successfully did so in the ongoing match.
Speaking of the match, England won the toss and elected to bat first on a dry red-soil pitch at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. The visitors had already announced their Playing XI a day before the match, with Mark Wood, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton, and Jamie Smith not making the cut.
India handed debuts to Yashasvi Jaiswal and Harshit Rana in the series opener. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was unavailable for the match due to a knee injury, as confirmed by Rohit Sharma at the toss.
The visitors were bundled out for 248 runs, where captain Jos Buttler (52) and Jacob Bethell (51) came up with valuable knocks. Harshit Rana and Ravindra Jadeja were the pick of the bowlers as they scalped 3 wickets each.
