Rishabh Pant became the first Indian cricketer to score centuries in both innings of a Test match in England, delivering a stunning performance in the first Test against England at Headingley.
The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batter smashed 134 in the first innings and 118 in the second, guiding India to a commanding position on Day 4.

Pant's historic feat came during India's 2025 tour of England, where the visitors, led by Shubman Gill, faced a challenging English side. In India's first innings, Pant walked in at No. 5 and unleashed a counter-attacking 134 off 178 balls, including 12 fours and 6 sixes.
His aggressive strokeplay dismantled England's bowling attack, particularly spinner Shoaib Bashir, and helped India post 471. Pant's knock saw him break the record for the most sixes by a visiting batter in a Test innings in England, earning a standing ovation from the Headingley crowd.
And in the second innings, Pant replicated it. He came after Gill's dismissal early in the day, and then showcased his class. Despite a bit of shaky start, Pant grew in statures and compiled a fantastic hundred, scoring 118 runs, with the help of 15 fours and 3 sixes.
With the record, Pant has now become the only Indian player to score Test hundreds in both innings of a match on English soil, a feat no Indian has achieved.
Rishabh Pant has now become the 7th Indian player to score a hundred in both innings of a Test match. He has joined Vijay Hazare, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma in the list. Gavaskar and Dravid have done it multiple times, thrice and twice, respectively.
Rishabh Pant has become only the 2nd designated wicketkeeper to score two hundreds in a Test match. Before Pant's knock, the only wicketkeeper to achieve the feat was former Zimbabwe player Andy Flower, who scored 142 and unbeaten 199 against South Africa in 2001.
