IND vs ENG: Rishabh Pant scolds himself after playing Rash Shot, Stump Mic catches him saying 'Jabardasti aise try kare...'

By MyKhel Staff

Rishabh Pant was seen and heard talking to himself and scolding after an attempted rash shot, during the 4th day of the 1st Test between England and India.

Pant, after attempting a paddle shot, fell over the crease. The shot just took the edge of the bat and then hit his pad, just saving him from getting cleaned up.

And immediately after that, Rishabh was heard rebuking himself at the non-striker's end. The player was not happy with the shot and kept telling himself to contain and playing with a straight bat.

"Aise jaruri nahi hain Rishabh. Thik hain. Maarna hain to seedha laag jayega next ball mein. jabardasti aise try kare jaa rahe hain (This is not necessary Rishabh, Okay? If you want to hit play with next ball. Don't force yourself playing these kinds of shots)," Rishabh was heard saying by the Stump Mic.

Dinesh Karthik also pointed that while commentating and explained it to the viewers and his fellow commentators. Although Nasser Hussain, who knows Hindi, confirmed that he understood what Pant was saying to himself.

"It's interesting what we heard the stump camera. Rishabh Pant is talking all by himself. He is saying, 'I don't need to be doing this, all I need to do is look at the ball, why do I need to take so many chances! Calm down', that's all he is saying in Hindi," Karthik said while commentating in the match.

India has lost captain Shubman Gill early as he departed after scoring 8 runs. KL Rahul has completed his fifty and together the Indian duo need to stitch a partnership to put themselves in a strong position. Pant scored a magnificent century in the first innings and will be instrumental for the visitors in this innings as well. Rishabh's history of throwing away wickets is another reason while the player's self-realisation for a cautious approach is huge for the Indian team.

At the moment, India is 118 for 3 in the first session of Day 4, with a lead of 126 runs. The 2nd innings total for the Indian team will be a huge factor, as they need to put up a decent total to have any chance of defending it.
