Rishabh Pant continues to etch his name into the annals of Test cricket history with a scintillating run of form in the ongoing series against England.

The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batter reached yet another landmark, becoming the first wicketkeeper from Asia to score over 2000 runs in SENA countries-South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia.

Pant, who has been in sublime touch throughout the series, crossed the 2000-run mark during the second Test at Edgbaston. The India player was 48 from 42 deliveries at the time of the milestone. With this achievement, he has overtaken former India captain MS Dhoni, who previously held the record for the most away runs by an Asian wicketkeeper in SENA nations with 1,731 runs.

Pant's tally now stands at 2,017 runs in these countries, making him not only the most prolific Indian wicketkeeper overseas in SENA conditions but also the 10th overall batter from India to breach the 2000-run mark in these regions.

The southpaw's dominance in this England series has been remarkable. Coming off a modest IPL season that featured just one century, Pant has responded in emphatic fashion in the longest format of the game. He scored twin hundreds in the opening Test and followed it up with a gritty half-century in the current match at Edgbaston, underlining his value in red-ball cricket.

Adding to his growing list of accolades, Pant also broke the record for the most sixes hit by an overseas batter in England. His aggressive style, particularly effective on English soil, has brought a much-needed counter-attacking edge to India's middle order.

The southpaw scored a blistering 65 off 58 balls in the 2nd innings as India look to surmount a mammoth total against England at Edgbaston. Captain Shubman Gill has scored a hundred again as India piled 427 for 6 before declaring. Chasing a target of 608 runs, England ended the Day 4 at 72 for 3, with Akash Deep giving India the two crucial breakthroughs of Ben Duckett and Joe Root.
