IND vs ENG: Rishabh Pant to Akash Deep - Full List of injured India Players ahead of Manchester Test

By MyKhel Staff

India's build-up to the 4th Test in Manchester has been overshadowed by a mounting injury crisis, hitting both their pace attack and key all-round options.

A number of players have suffered injuries in the last few days, and the list continues to increase, with just 48 hours remaining from the Manchester encounter.

India came into the match with a couple of doubtful players, but there have been a few unforeseen issues, which has further complicated the situation.

IND vs ENG: Full List of Injured Players for India

Nitish Reddy

Nitish Kumar Reddy is out of the Manchester Test after suffering a serious knee injury. The Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder tore a ligament during a gym session, a blow so severe that he has not only been ruled out of the fourth Test but is unlikely to feature again in the series. Reddy's absence disrupts the balance of the team given his recent impact, especially with the ball in the third Test at Lord's.

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh, yet to debut in Tests, has also been ruled out. The left-arm pacer sustained a deep cut to his bowling hand while trying to stop a ball in the nets. He required stitches and, according to team sources, will need at least ten days to recover, effectively ending his chances for the Manchester Test, and possibly the remainder of the series.

Akash Deep

Akash Deep is another concern. After performing well at Edgbaston, Akash suffered a groin niggle during the Lord's Test, which later flared into a recurring back issue. He struggled to complete his bowling spells and needed medical attention on the field. His fitness remains "doubtful", and the recurring nature of his injury means he is unlikely to start in Manchester. The selectors have already added Haryana pacer Anshul Kamboj to the squad as a cover in light of Akash's and Arshdeep's troubles.

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant, who has been playing as both wicketkeeper and key batter, also enters Manchester under a cloud. Pant was hit on the left finger during the Lord's Test and, since then, has not kept wickets for the remainder of the match. If he cannot don the gloves in Manchester, India will have to rely on Dhruv Jurel as wicketkeeper.

The string of injuries has forced India to rethink rotation plans, especially for Jasprit Bumrah, who was originally to play only three Tests on workload management grounds. With Akash Deep likely out and Arshdeep unavailable, Bumrah's participation becomes critical for a must-win scenario.
