Amidst rumours of a rift, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir were all in good spirits as the duo were seen sharing a fun banter ahead of the first ODI against England.

Rohit and Gambhir faced a tough time during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia. Rohit had a terrible run with the bat in the red ball format, while Gambhir faced a lot of scrutiny for the team's performance in Tests since he took over as the head coach.

Rohit's woeful batting performances forced him to sit out of the fifth and final Test in Sydney, but before the match rumors of a rift in the dressing room emerged as there were a lot of reports on all was not right between the skipper and the coach.

However, the pair may have put to bed those rumours for now as they were seen sharing a joke in a video that went viral on social media, showcasing Rohit and Gambhir may have ended their differences.

While the rift theory were just rumours, Team India will definitely benefit if all of them involved are on the same page before heading into the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 later this month. India will play all their matches in Dubai, UAE.

Before India jet out to UAE, Rohit & Co will face England in a three-match ODI series, starting with the opener on Thursday (February 6) followed by the second and third matches on February 9 in Cuttack and February 12 in Ahmedabad respectively.

In the Champions Trophy 2025, India have been drawn in Group A, and will start their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 before the much-anticipated clash against Pakistan on February 23, followed by their final group match against New Zealand on March 2.
