Sai Sudharsan got dismissed without troubling the scorers on his Test debut against England on Friday (June 20).
Making his debut in the Red Ball format, the southpaw had a brief stay at the crease, as he got dismissed just before Lunch on the first day of the match.

Sudharsan came into the crease at no. 3 after KL Rahul was dismissed. He looked anxious at the middle, eager to get off the mark. Sudharsan, known for his elegant strokeplay and consistency in domestic cricket, walked to the crease with high expectations. He was handed the debut cap by Cheteshwar Pujara, who is part of the commentary team in this series.
However, the debutant's stay at the crease was cut short, lasting just 4 balls before he was sent back to the pavilion. He managed a faint edge from an inswinging delivery of Ben Stokes, and Jamie Smith completed a simple catch.
With his dismissal, Sudharsan has now become only the 29th India player to have been dismissed for a duck in Test debut, the first in 14 years after Umesh Yadav had the same fate in 2011. Along with that, he has also joined two Tamil Nadu legends in the list. Krishnamachari Srikkanth and Ravichandran Ashwin, who have served India for years, also got dismissed for ducks on their debut Test innings.
