Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant etched their names into the history books as each scored a century in India's first innings against England at Headingley, becoming only the fourth Indian trio to achieve this rare feat in a Test outside Asia.
The commanding batting display marked a generational shift, with India's young brigade stepping up in the absence of stalwarts like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both of whom have retired from Test cricket. While India has previously seen three centurions in an overseas innings on three occasions, this was the first time it happened in nearly two decades.

Jaiswal set the tone with a fluent 101 at the top of the order, mixing aggression with discipline against the new ball. Gill followed up with a classy 147, anchoring the innings and building crucial partnerships. And then it was Rishabh Pant, who scored a fantastic 134.
The trio joined elite company, as this amazing feat has only happened thrice out of Asia before in Indian cricket's annals. Back in 1986, it was done in Sydney, and some 23 years ago, India achieved the same at Headingley.

Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar & Sourav Ganguly vs England at Headingley in 2002
Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid & Mohammad Kaif vs West Indies at Gros Islet in 2006

The performance at Headingley not only revived memories of India's famous 2002 win at the same venue but also underlined the strength of the next generation. The absence of experienced names like Rohit and Kohli could have been a blow, but instead, it allowed the younger trio to make a statement of their own. With Jaiswal, Gill, and Pant now being dubbed the 'Gen Bold Trinity', Indian cricket appears to be in capable hands as it transitions into a new era in Test cricket.
