India's thrilling victory over England by just six runs at the Kennington Oval in London during the fifth and final Test match of the 2025 series is being hailed as one of the greatest Test finishes in recent memory.

The win allowed India to level the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series 2-2, thus also elevating them in the WTC points table.

Chasing a daunting target of 374 runs, England appeared firmly in control at one stage, reaching 301 for three wickets. Outstanding centuries from Harry Brook and Joe Root had raised hopes among the home crowd, with England seemingly on course for their largest successful chase at this venue. However, a sudden collapse saw England lose their last seven wickets for just 66 runs, thanks to inspired bowling from India.

Mohammed Siraj was the standout performer, taking a remarkable five-wicket haul in the final innings, including the crucial wickets of Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton, and Gus Atkinson. His impeccable yorkers and relentless pressure turned the tide. The resilience of the Indian bowlers was epitomized as they bowled England out for 367 runs.

And after the match, India was in unison to celebrate and even the former players, who were at the Oval as broadcasters and commentators, also went with the flow. Sunil Gavaskar, the legendary former Indian cricketer, was seen revelling in this historic moment with utmost joy.

A video shared on social media by Sony Sports, the broadcasters of the England series framed Gavaskar with the dance moves. Wearing his iconic "lucky jacket," Gavaskar was captured singing the patriotic classic "Mere Desh Ki Dharti," alongside commentators including Cheteshwar Pujara. His joyous singing and dancing celebrated India's hard-fought victory, turning into a viral moment cherished by fans worldwide.

India stalwart Virat Kohli also reacted to team's brilliant win at the Oval. Kohli, who retired from the red ball format in May, congratulated the team and singled out Mohammed Siraj after the victory.

"Great win by team India. Resilience and determination from Siraj and Prasidh has given us this phenomenal victory. Special mention to Siraj who will put everything on the line for the team. Extremely happy for him," he wrote on social media.
