IND vs ENG T20 World Cup 2024 Semi-final 2: Rohit Shama's India will take on Jos Buttler's England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Providence Stadium in Guayana. The match will start from 8:00 PM IST (10:30 AM local time).

India qualified for the semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2024 by topping the Super 8 Group 1 after beating Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia. They are unbeaten in the tournament so far. England finished second in Group 2 after losing against South Africa and beating West Indies, and USA.

"Back-to-back night games here on the same surface. Fairly pleasant from a playing point of view. Well over 80m down the ground, late 70s on the leg-side and only 70 on the off-side. Gurbaz described the surface as challenging and very tough. It was tough because of the variable bounce. Quite a lot of them kept very low (in the NZ vs Afghanistan match). Not much bounce on the surface and that could be a cause of concern. Some turned, some didn't turn. Overall, there was a lack of bounce, that's where there's the uncertainty is really for the batters. It looks very similar to the way it looked last night. It'll play in a similar way," Simon Doull and Samuel Badree said ahead of the West Indies vs Uganda clash - the last match at the venue in T20 World Cup 2024 on June 9.

In the match, West Indies opted to bat first after winning the toss and scored 173 runs for the loss of five wickets. Three wickets were taken by Uganda spinners. In reply, Uganda were bundled out for 39 in 12 overs. Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein picked five wickets. His spin partner Gudakesh Motie also picked a wicket.

In the match between Afghanistan and New Zealand, spinner Rashid Khan and pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi picked four wickets each. Afghanistan defended a 160-run target by bundling out New Zealand for 75.

No match has been played at the venue since June 8, and so we can expect the Guyana pitch to not be very slow. There will definitely be help for pacers early in the innings. Teams winning the toss, have opted to bowl first 54 percent of the time in the last five years in Guayana.

India last played at the venue in August 2023 and won the match by seven wickets. India chased down a 160-run target with 13 balls to spare.

The India vs England semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to start from 10:30 local time. AccuWeather has predicted rain showers from 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM, and then from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The overcast conditions will remain with another round of showers around 4:00 PM. No further rain has been predicted after that. With a humidity level of 80-90 percent, the temperature will hover around 29 to 30 degree celsius.

There is no reserve day for the second semi-final of T20 World Cup 2024, however an extra 250 minutes have been allotted to complete the match on the same day.
