IND v ENG: Ever since the inception of cricket, India and England have had healthy battles in international cricket. England have a cutting edge over India in terms of the head-to-head as they won 51 games whereas India won 32 games and the remaining 50 games ended in a draw.
Case in point, it is not that easy to construct a humongous partnership, especially after a team loses three wickets. In the history of Indian cricket, only three India pairs were able to negate the England bowling attack to add 200-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

India’s legendary duo Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly who have been involved in plenty of partnerships in the past, tops the list in terms of accumulating the most runs as an Indian pair for the fourth wicket against England.
Sourav Ganguly contributed 128 runs whereas Sachin Tendulkar scored 112 runs as the duo stitched together a record 249-run partnership in the third Test at Headingley in Leeds in 2002. Notably, India came out on top as they won the game by an innings and 46 runs.
Vijay Manjrekar and Vijay Hazare
It is worth noting that Vijay Manjrekar and Vijay Hazare were the first Indian pair to construct a 200-plus partnership for the fourth wicket against England. The duo added 222 runs in their memorable partnership in the Headingley Test in 1952.
Vijay Manjrekar dominated the bowling attack by scoring 133 whereas Vijay Hazare who was the captain of the team, scored 89 runs. However, their partnership was overshadowed by England’s dominance as the hosts won the game by 7 wickets.
Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja
The ongoing third Test between India and England is being held in Rajkot. India won the toss and opted to bat first. The hosts were in a real spot of bother in the morning session after they were reduced to 33/3 as the visitors mounted immense pressure on the hosts.
Just as when the first innings started to tilt in favor of the visitors, the likes of Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja turned things around by steering the team into the comfort zone. The skipper scored 114 whereas Jadeja scored 84 in the colossal 204-run partnership.
