IND vs ENG: India captain Rohit Sharma gave an earful to Mohammed Siraj after his fielding goof up during match number 29 of the World Cup 2023 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, October 29.

The incident happened during the 28th over of England's chase when Liam Livingstone played a sweep shot off Kuldeep Yadav towards the square leg. The mistimed shot had no pace behind it but Siraj still fumbled as the ball went straight past him.

Rohit Sharma was left astonished at the sloppy effort from Siraj and his hilarious reaction has now gone viral. Siraj quickly recovered the ball but not before Livingstone managed to steal a single.

Livingstone was later dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav in the 30th over. The wicket left England reeling at 98/8 in the 230-run chase. England were ultimately bowled out for 129 in 34.5 overs as India won the match by 100 runs.

This is India's sixth win on the trot. Unbeaten India regained the top position in the World Cup 2023 points table after the win. England, on the other hand, continue to feature at the bottom of the ten-team table after losing five of their six matches. This is also the first instance of England losing four World Cup matches in a row.

After being asked to bat first India had managed to post 229/9 on the back of 87 runs from Rohit Sharma. Suryakumar Yadav also chipped in with 49 runs. It was the first instance of India defending the target in World Cup 2023.
