IND vs ENG: Sanju Samson showcased his batting prowess in the 1st T20I between India and England at Eden Gardens, delivering a stunning display against England pacer Gus Atkinson.

Chasing a modest target of 132, Samson turned the heat on Atkinson in his very first over, smashing 22 runs off six deliveries with a combination of precise timing and sheer power. The over saw Samson smash 4,4,6,4,4 in tandem. Watch the video below.

The fireworks began with consecutive boundaries off the first two balls, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Atkinson managed a moment of respite with a dot ball but couldn't maintain control for long. Samson launched the fourth delivery for a towering six, followed by two more boundaries to finish the over on a high. The Indian batter's explosive assault set the tone for a confident chase, leaving the English pacer reeling.

Earlier in the match, India's bowlers laid a solid foundation by dismantling England's batting lineup. Varun Chakravarthy was the star performer, weaving his magic with figures of 3/23. His critical breakthroughs included the dismissals of Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone, halting England's recovery after a strong third-wicket stand between Jos Buttler and Brook.

Arshdeep Singh also played a vital role, dismissing England's openers Ben Duckett and Phil Salt early on. His economical spell not only put England on the back foot but also cemented his status as India's leading wicket-taker in T20Is. Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya contributed with two wickets each, ensuring England could only manage a below-par total of 131.

Jos Buttler was the lone warrior for England, scoring a resilient 68 off 44 balls. However, his efforts were overshadowed by the lack of support from the other batters, who struggled against India's disciplined bowling attack. Buttler eventually fell to Chakravarthy while trying to accelerate in the death overs.

With both the bowlers and batters firing, India comfortably chased down the target, aided by Samson's breathtaking onslaught. The win marks an encouraging start to the series, with the team displaying a perfect blend of aggression and control.

Fans will hope for more such thrilling performances as the series progresses, with Samson's blistering knock likely to be remembered as one of the defining moments of the match.
