IND vs ENG: Will Yuzvendra Chahal play in the India vs England 2nd semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2024? Will India drop Ravindra Jadeja in the high-octane clash in Guyana on Thursday, June 27?
The questions have been doing the rounds as India gear up to face dangerous England at the Providence Stadium. It is being believed that the Guyana surface would aid the spinners.

The Indian team management could be tempted to bring in Yuzvendra Chahal, but they will need to drop rockstar Ravindra Jadeja to make room. Jadeja being dropped from the India playing eleven for the big semi-final is highly unlikely.
Though not in the best of forms, Jadeja gives the Indian team a balance like none other. Unlike Yuzvendra Chahal, who is at times sloppy on the field, Jadeja saves a handful of runs through his fielding alone.
Highlighting all the positives of having Ravindra Jadeja in the playing eleven, former Australia spinner Brad Hogg said that bringing Yuzvendra Chahal wouldn't be a good idea.
"It's a day game, so the wicket might be a little bit dry. But this is the good thing about the Indian squad—they've got depth in spin. They knew that when they got to the West Indies, they were going to play more spin than pace. But they've still got Siraj there that they can bring in, and they've got Hardik Pandya, so they've got more pace options if they want up their sleeve. Will they bring in Chahal? Brad Hogg said while speaking exclusively during the Star Sports Press Room.
"I wouldn't bring in Chahal right now. I'd stick with Jadeja. You've got to stick with the playing XI that you're going with. I love the thought of the question, though. Chahal against England would be okay. But there's a couple of left-handers in the batting lineup for England as well, which could do a little bit of damage.
"Kuldeep Yadav has been bowling exceptionally well, and Axar Patel has been going well. Jadeja hasn't been that flash, but he gives you so much in the field, as well as with the bat. And he's a player that, in the right conditions, he can also lift with the ball. If it's not turning and if it suits pace, I reckon Jadeja is a better option than Chahal as well. So, I'd stick with Jadeja," Hogg added of India's semi-final game against defending champions England.
Yuzvendra Chahal hasn't featured in the T20 World Cup 2024 for India yet. He also did not bowl in India's only practice match against Bangladesh before the start of the tournament.
