IND vs ENG: Yashasvi Jaiswal's third Test hundred, and the collective performance from the bowling unit gave India complete control of the third Test match against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium on Saturday, February 17.
England finished Day 2 at a solid 207/2 in 35 overs in reply to the 445 runs from India in the first innings. India took field without their ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who flew to Chennai to be with his unwell mother, but a spirited performance from the remaining four bowlers early on Day 3, fired India to a 126-run first innings lead which now stands at 322 with eight wickets still in the hands.

Rajat Patidar departed for a 10-ball duck in the fourth-last over of the day, but nightwatchman Kuldeep Yadav survived 15 deliveries for three runs to help India finish their dominating Day 3 at 196/2 in 51 overs.
Rohit Sharma became Joe Root's seventh victim in the series after being trapped in front of the stumps for 19 off 28, but a 155-run partnership off just 195 balls between Jaiswal and Shubman Gill gave England the taste of their own 'bazball' approach, and pushed them completely on the back foot.
Jaiswal (104* off 133) did not hit a single boundary while facing his first 48 deliveries, but cut loose after to smash nine fours and five sixes en route to his 122-ball hundred. He got retired hurt due to a back spasm seven overs before the end of day's play, but by then had put his team as the firm favourites to win the match and take a 2-1 lead in the 5-Test series.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill also silently notched up his fifth Test fifty and went unbeaten at an overnight score of 65 off 120 balls. Gill's compact inning was laden with six fours and two sixes.
Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah struck in the fifth over to send Joe Root packing. The star batter was trying to executa reverse sweep when he was caught at second slip by Jaiswal. Kuldeep Yadav removed Jonny Bairstow for a duck, and Ben Duckett for 153.
Ben Stokes was looking set to play another crucial knock and was batting on 41 when he was caught by Jasprit Bumrah off Ravindra Jadeja while trying to clear the midwicket boundary. Jadeja also got Tom Hartley (9) stumped by debutant Dhruv Jurel.
'Mohammed Siraj clean bowled Rehan Ahmed, got Ben Foakes (13) caught by Rohit Sharma at mid-on, and then clean bowled James Anderson (1) again to wrap up England's innings at 319 and finish with figures of 4/84.
