The southpaw batter missed out on his second Test hundred during the first Test which India lost by 28 runs in Hyderabad. He was dismissed for 80 in the first innings.

After opting to bat first in the second Test, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal sitched a 40-run partnership before the former got out to a Shoaib Bashir delivery. But Jaiswal continued to stride forward and kept playing his shots to keep the scoreboard moving.

On the third ball of the 49th over, Jaiswal got a ball in his arc and slammed it over long-on for a massive six to reach to the three-figure mark.

Jaiswal removed his helmet, slapped his arms and blew a kiss towards the heavens to celebrate his hundred in style. The whole of Indian dressing applauded the knock from Yashasvhi Jaiswal. Shreyas Iyer hugged his partner in the middle with a broad smile on his face.

Jaiswal played his knock in two parts. He showed caution in the first phase before coming out all guns blazing in the second sessions.

At Tea on Day 1, Yashasvi Jaiswal was batting on 128 unbeaten runs off 185 balls. The first two sessions saw him score 14 fours and three sixes. The Indian scorecard was reading 225/3 at the stroke of tea.

India are eyeing to level the 5-Test series 1-1 by winning the second Test. They lost the first Test despite a 190-run first innings lead.
