IND vs ENG: Yashasvi Jaiswal two runs away from surpassing Rahul Dravid, can break all-time India Record as well

India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is having an outstanding Test series against England. The southpaw has been in excellent form in this series and has already scored two double centuries.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 209 in the 2nd match and backed it up with another outstanding 214 in the last Test. But the opener hasn't stopped here, as he has continued his merry way with the willow.

Jaiswal started the series in a decent fashion. Despite India losing the first match, he scored 80 runs in the first innings. After scoring 209 runs in the first innings of the second Test, Jaiswal could manage 15 runs in the second innings. And in Rajkot, the batter managed 10 runs in the first, but compensated for that with another double century in the second inning.

The batter has scored 73 runs in the 1st innings of the 4th Test in Ranchi and now has amassed 618 runs already in just seven innings.

Jaiswal's stellar form means he is now the 5th highest Indian batter to score the most number of runs in a bilateral Test series. Sunil Gavaskar is the highest scorer for India in a Test series when he racked up 774 runs against West Indies in 1970-71 season.

Virat Kohli, Dilip Sardesai and Rahul Dravid are the other players who are ahead of the pecking order in the list. Jaiswal will have to amass 157 runs in his last three innings to break Gavaskar's record, but the batter is just two runs away from surpassing India coach Rahul Dravid.

Rahul Dravid scored 619 runs for India in the four-match Test series against Australia in the 2003-04 series. And if Jaiswal can score two runs in the second innings in Ranchi, he will be surpassing the Wall.

Overall, Don Bradman holds the record for scoring the most runs in a bilateral Test series when he scored 974 runs in five Test matches against England in 1930.
