Former India captain Anil Kumble has issued a strong plea to the Indian team management to ensure that Jasprit Bumrah plays in the remaining two Test matches against England.
Speaking after India's narrow 22-run loss in the third Test at Lord's, which left India trailing 2-1 in the five-match series, Kumble emphasized Bumrah's critical role in India's chances of salvaging the tour.

"I would certainly, if I'm a part of that group, I would certainly push Bumrah to play the next game because that's crucial. If he doesn't play and then you lose the Test match, that's it. Series is done and dusted," Kumble said.
"I think Bumrah should play both the Test matches. I know he said, I'm only going to play three. We have a long break after this. You don't need to play the home series. You can take a break if you want. But Bumrah should be playing the next," he added.
Bumrah had been rested for the second Test at Edgbaston as part of workload management confirmed by head coach Gautam Gambhir before the series began. Despite his absence in the second Test, India's bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep helped the team secure a significant 336-run victory. However, Kumble's warning highlights the importance of Bumrah's presence moving forward, especially with England just one win away from clinching the series.
India skipper Shubman Gill has refrained from commenting on Bumrah's availability, stating, "You'll get to know soon," after the Lord's defeat. The fourth Test is scheduled to begin on July 23 at Old Trafford, making Bumrah's participation a key question for India's fighting chances.
Bumrah has been prolific for India in this England series. The speedster has picked up 12 wickets so far in two matches, and his availability will be crucial for India in the coming matches.
