IND vs IRE: 'We rule the World' - Hardik Pandya gives bold statement after excellent bowling display

India vice-captain Hardik Pandya says Indians rule the world after his scintillating performance against Ireland in the T20 World Cup 2024 match on Wednesday (June 5).

Pandya has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons in recent times, but it was an inspired performance as Pandya picked up three wickets in the match as India bowled out Ireland for just a paltry 96 runs.

Coming to bowl in the 7th over, Pandya disturbed the timbers of Lorcan Tucker with a beautiful delivery, got the crucial wicket of Curtis Campher and then dismissed Mark Adair as well. Pandya was the pick of the bowlers with a stellar spell showing 3 for 27 in his four overs.

And during the mid-innings interview, Pandya depicted his feeling after returning in Indian colours. The all-rounder had an abrupt end to the World Cup 2023 after sustaining an injury against Bangladesh. This was his return to the national colours after a long time and the player was very happy.

"Always special to play for the country, always good to play for pride. I have been able to contribute in the World Cups, god has been kind. I really liked the first wicket, don't hit the stumps often as I usually bowl short of a length. I needed to be fuller than back of a length today. On this kind of surface, you need to be disciplined and hit the right areas," Pandya said.

India had massive support at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas and speaking about the fans, Pandya said that the abundance of Indians is everywhere and the entire community rule the world.

"It's always fantastic to see the crowd, we Indians are everywhere, we rule the world, good to have their support," Pandya added.

India made light work of their target as they chased the target down with more than seven overs to spare and won the match by 8 wickets.
