IND vs NED: Virat Kohli equalled another Sachin Tendulkar record during India's last league match of the World Cup 2023 against Netherlands at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, November 12.
Virat Kohli in his last outing against South Africa, equalled Sachin Tendulkar's record tally of 49 ODI hundreds. He took the field against Netherlands with an aim to break Sachin Tendulkar's record for most ODI hundreds.

However, Kohli got out after scoring 51 runs off 56 balls. His innings consisted of five fours and six. He looked all set fir his 50th ODI hundred, but experienced Roelof Van Der Merwe cleaned his stumps in the 29th over.
The 35-year-old missed the chance to create history by 49 runs, but the 51 runs helped him equal another Sachin Tendulkar record. Kohli has now equalled Sachin Tendulkar and Shakib Al Hasan's tally of seven fifties each in a single World Cup edition.
Sachin Tendulkar achieved the feat in the 2003 World Cup, while Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan hit seven fifties in the 2019 World Cup. Kohli will have the opportunity to break this record on Wednesday, November 15 when India will clash against New Zealand in the semi-final of the World Cup 2023.
Virat Kohli also overtook Quinton de Kock (591) and Rachin Ravindra (565) to become the leading run-scorer in the World Cup 2023. Kohli has scored 594 runs in nine matches at an average of 99. All these players will feature in the semi-finals.
Each of India's top five batters scored over 50 as India finished their innings at 410/4 in 50 overs. Shreyas Iyer scored 128 unbeaten runs off 94 balls, while KL Rahul (102) smashed the fastest World Cup hundred by an India batter. He reached the three-figure mark in just 62 balls.
