The India vs New Zealand 1st Test enters day 4 with the hosts still trailing by 125 runs after posting just 46 All Out in their first innings against the visitors at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
After the day one was completely washed out due to persistent rains in the city, Rohit Sharma's decision to bat first on a surface that was under covers for a long time back-fired as India were bowled out inside the morning session when the rain-hit Bengaluru Test started on day two.

Day two remained overcast for the first session, but the weather since then has seen the sun out in Bengaluru as the run-scoring also eased as New Zealand posted 402 in their response to India's first innings score of 46, taking a 356-run lead.
Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal led India's fightback in the second innings with a fast start as the skipper also went on to make a fifty before he was dimissed in bizarre fashion to join his opening partner in the pavilion.
Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz Khan counter-attacked with fifties to take India within 125 runs of the Kiwis' lead at stumps on day 3, which went on without any interruption. However, there was heavy downpour in parts of the city in the night on Friday (October 18).
As India look to turn the tables on New Zealand in the final two days of the rain-hit Test, here is a look at the weather forecast for Bengaluru on Saturday (October 19) and Sunday (October 20):
Indian Meteorlogical Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Saturday, October 19 in Bengaluru. As per the IMD's weather predictions, Bengaluru will be enveloped in a generally cloudy sky over the upcoming days, likely accompanied by rain and thunderstorms.
On October 19, temperatures are anticipated to range between 20 and 28 degrees Celsius, maintaining a similar pattern for October 20 and 21, which may see a few spells of rain or thunderstorms.
As per AccuWeather, there is prediction for spells of showers and thunderstorms throughout the two days in parts of Bengaluru, but Weather.com forecast says it would only remain cloudy on both days.
There is a chance that rain could impact play on day 4 and 5. But rain will only play spoilsport if it's a situation like day one. Overnight showers in parts of the city may have got fans worried.
With only intermittent spells of rain or thundershowers and the best of drainage system in the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, there is every chance we could have good amount of play if there is no persistent rains.
