Phillips, Jacobs Power New Zealand To 180/5

Earlier, New Zealand posted a competitive 180/5 in their allotted 20 overs after recovering from early setbacks. Arshdeep Singh made an immediate impact with two wickets, returning figures of 2/33 to put the visitors under pressure during the initial stages.

However, Glenn Phillips and Bevon Jacobs launched a counterattack to rebuild the innings and give New Zealand a strong finish. Phillips struck an impressive 70, while Jacobs contributed 58, with the pair ensuring the visitors reached a challenging total despite India's early breakthroughs.

The Indian bowlers struggled to contain the scoring once the partnership gathered momentum, leaving their batters with a target that required a composed chase.

Tilak, Nitish Rescue India After Middle-Order Collapse

India began their pursuit with the intention of maintaining the momentum from the opening match but suffered a dramatic middle-order collapse. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner led the bowling attack brilliantly, claiming four wickets for 21 runs and reducing the hosts to 112/6 in the 15th over.

With the match hanging in the balance, Tilak displayed composure and attacking intent to keep India's hopes alive. His timely boundaries eased the pressure, while Nitish ensured the partnership remained productive without taking unnecessary risks.

The unbeaten stand between the two batters proved decisive as India completed the chase with one ball remaining.

Tilak's match-winning knock and Nitish's finishing contribution handed India another victory, leaving New Zealand with plenty to address ahead of the third T20I as the hosts strengthened their grip on the series.
