In a stunning turn of events, New Zealand defeated India by 25 runs in the third and final Test at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, sealing a historic 3-0 series whitewash on Indian soil. This victory marks the first time any team has managed a three-match Test series sweep against India at home.

Thus, ending India's impressive 12-year unbeaten home streak in Test cricket. New Zealand, led by Tom Latham, had already clinched the series with wins in Bengaluru and Pune. In Mumbai, the Black Caps reinforced their dominance, skittling out India's lineup for just 121 runs on the third day while defending a modest target of 147.

Ajaz Patel's remarkable 11-wicket match haul, including six for 57 in India's second innings, played a pivotal role in securing the historic win. India's chase began poorly, with both openers falling quickly to New Zealand's sharp bowling attack. Rohit Sharma was dismissed early after a mistimed shot off Matt Henry.
