The southpaw started with devastating fashion and hit four sixes to Kickstart his innings and then got on to his 50 in just 24 balls. His latest half century also has also helped him to establish his name as a unique piece of record in world cricket.

Abhishek has now become the player to score the most T20I fiftiess while taking less than 25 balls. This is the eighth time he has managed to bat at a strike rate of 200 and more while reaching his half-century in T20Is, thus eclipsing England's Phil Salt, West Indies' Evin Lewis and his India captain Suryakumar Yadav, who all have the distinction for 7 times each in their career.

India were put into bat by New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner and Samson departed for 10, while Kishan had a brief stay for just 8 runs. But Abhishek is currently batting on 83 off just 33 deliveries, hitting 5 fours and 8 sixes in the process. The hosts are 146 for 3 in the 12th over and are heading towards a mammoth total.
