IND vs NZ: Ishan Kishan stung by bee in Dharamsala; Suryakumar Yadav and Shami likely to play against New Zealand

IND vs NZ: Ishan Kishan has been stung by a bee while practicing at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala ahead of India's match against New Zealand on Sunday, October 22.

Team India manager Anand Basu confirmed the development to the media. The southpaw played in the first two matches in the absence of Shubman Gill who is back in the eleven after recovering from dengue.

Ishan Kishan warmed the bench against Pakistan and Bangladesh, his chances of playing against New Zealand are also very dim now. The 25-year-old could have replaced injured Hardik Pandya in the squad but Suryakumar Yadav now looks set to feature in the playing eleven versus New Zealand.

The Men in Blue arrived at the venue around 5 in the evening. Head coach Rahul Dravid interacted with the media and hinted that Mohammed Shami could also get a go in place of Shardul Thakur.

IND vs NZ: Injury scare for Suryakumar Yadav as well

Middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav was also hit in the nets and walked out holding his right hand. A full toss reportedly hit him on his right wrist. However, he seemed fine later.

IND vs NZ: Tim Southee set to play vs India

Veteran New Zealand pacer Tim Southee is likely to feature in the high-voltage clash. He is yet to play a match in the World Cup 2023. In case Southee is included in the eleven, New Zealand would be seen operating with Trent Boult, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson and Southee in pace-friendly conditions in Dharamsala.

India and New Zealand are the only two unbeaten teams in the World Cup 2023. India are looking to register their first win in an ICC event against New Zealand since 2003.
