Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, left the pitch after suffering a finger injury in the World Cup match against New Zealand. Rohit injured his finger while attempting to stop the ball in the tenth over.

KL Rahul took over as captain of the Indian team as Rohit Sharma left the pitch. Nonetheless, Rohit quickly returned to the field with his finger taped.
