The entire cricketing world will have their eyes on Ahmedabad as India play New Zealand in the T20 World Cup 2026 Final on Sunday (March 8) at the Narendra Modi stadium.
The finale clash beckons history for India, who aim for their third title. For the Kiwis, it's all about replicating what their neighbours did in 2023 at the same venue, as they eye their first-ever T20 World Cup crown.

The biggest cricket stadium in the world is expected to be a full house as fans from across the globe will converge in Ahmedabad. Thousands of fans in india are expected to make their travel to the Western part of the country. And as the heat of the final increases, the pocket pinch has started to inflate as well.
The hotel prices across Ahmedabad has started to rise ahead of the final. Narendra Somani, the Hotels and Restaurants Association president said that the tariff has taken a huge hike for the final.
"There is a 300 per cent to 400 per cent increase in the room tariffs due to the high demand in view of the T20 WC final. Rooms which were available for Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 now have rates between Rs 15,000 and Rs 50,000," he was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Along with that, the online apps for hotel booking have also imposed a higher rate compared to the usual one. A room at 'Taj Skyline' has been priced at Rs 2.37 lakh, including tax at a leading portal, which is usually around Rs 10k to 15k on usual days.
Somani also mentioned that some fans have decided to stay at Gandhinagar, which is around 20 kms away from Ahmedabad to lower the hotel cost, while some fans are planning a trip in and out on the same day (or early morning flight on Monday) to avoid hotel cost.
Till Saturday evening, the air fare hasn't skyrocketed. A direct flight from Mumbai to Ahmedabad is around Rs 6000 in a portal, which is around 1.5x higher than normal. Flights from Delhi to Ahmedabad are hovering around Rs 9k to Rs 12k, which has taken a significant hike than usual.
From Kolkata, a morning flight for Ahmedabad has reached as high as Rs 20,000 - which is way more than the usual Rs 5k to Rs 6k price. Flights from other cities such as Bengaluru (Rs 9k to Rs 11k), Hyderabad (Rs 12k to Rs 14k) have also taken a massive rise.
