It is an achievement that signifies the total superiority of red-ball cricket. The Test opener is just five days away from getting underway and in the meantime, let's take a look at these two memorable instances where India crushed New Zealand by 10 wickets.

1. February 12, 1988: When India unleashed dominance at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Hyderabad

India registered a dominating 10-wicket victory over New Zealand during the 1988 Test at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Hyderabad. Batting first, New Zealand managed to score 254 runs in their first innings. In response, India posted 358 runs on the board.

On the other hand, India's bowling attack, led by the spin wizardry of Narendra Hirwani and Maninder Singh, played a quintessential role in keeping the Kiwis in check. New Zealand crumbled under pressure in the second innings as they were bowled out for just 124 runs.

Indian bowlers tore through the Kiwis' batting lineup. Kiwis set a small target of 22 runs. Notably, India chased it down without losing a wicket and secured a resounding victory by 10 wickets.

2. March 18, 2009 - India's Triumph at Seddon Park, Hamilton

Fast forward to March 2009, India once again humiliated New Zealand by 10 wickets. Interestingly, their dominant win came in New Zealand's territory at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

New Zealand posted 279 runs in their first innings and in response, India pitched in with a massive total of 520 runs, thanks to a brilliant century by Sachin Tendulkar and vital contributions from Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid.

In their second innings, New Zealand posted 279 runs, setting India a target of only 39. On the contrary, Indian openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir made light work of the target as they helped the team ace the chase without losing a wicket as India sealed the match with yet another emphatic 10-wicket win.
