Virat Kohli crossed yet another milestone in his second home as the star Indian batter became the fourth Indian to cross 9000 runs in Test cricket during the 1st Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru.
The 35-year-old, who had registered a duck in the first innings that saw India fold for 46 All Out, returned to smash 70 off 102 balls en-route to achieving his latest feat at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday (October 18).

In crossing the landmark, Kohli joined legends Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid to become only the fourth Indian to score 9000 runs or more in Test cricket. Overall, he became the 18th player, joining rivals Steve Smith and Joe Root in the list.
Overall, Kohli has amassed over 27000 runs in international cricket - (9017 Test Runs, 13906 ODI Runs and 4188 T20I runs). He has a total of 80 centuries to his name across the three formats and is only behind Tendulkar for most 100s in internationals.
The star India batter, however, is third in the list for most runs in international cricket. Kohli is only behind Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting in the list.
Coming back to the Bengaluru Test, India reached 231 for 3 at stumps on day 3, still trailing New Zealand by 125 runs with Sarfaraz Khan unbeaten overnight at 70 not out.
